Clear Creek Fishing Report

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to give a quick update for the Clear Creek Fishing Report.

The whole stretch seems to be fishing well from Idaho Springs all the way to the Golden Whitewater Park.  Great reports are coming in from those using dries, nymphs, and streamers.  This is the time of year when fish are spawning, so beware of fish sitting on redds.  This is also the time of year when all species get very aggressive in pursuit of forage before a long, cold winter.

Suggested Patterns:

Dry)  Carnage Hopper: 10-16; Dave's Hopper: 10-16; Stimulators (Orange, Yellow, Peacock, Royal, Crystal): 14-18; Humpies (Yellow, Red, Black, Royal): 12-18; Elk Hair Caddis (Tan, Olive, Brown): 14-18; Hot Wing Caddis: 14-18: Parachute Adams: 16-22; Furimsky's BDE (BWO, Olive, Gray): 16-20

Nymph)  Pheasant Tail (FlashBack, BH, Mercury): 16-22; Kyle's Beerhead Baetis: 18-20; Beaverhole Special: 18-20; Barr's Emerger (BWO): 18-22; Purple Prince: 16-18; Wired Caddis (Olive, Tan): 16-18; Garcia's Rojo Midge (Red, Chartreuse): 18-22; Copper John (Red, Copper, Black, Chartreuse): 16-20; Rockworm Micro Caddis Larva: 18-20

Streamer)  Platte River Special: 8-12; Autumn Splendor: 8-12; Wooly Buggers (Black, Olive, Purple, Brown, Yellow): 8-12; Orange Blossom: 10-12; Muddler Minnow: 8-12; Rolled Muddler: 8-12; Kyle's Tunghead Minnow: 8-12
